capture one db

My client has a few hundred images i shot for him on a P45 but dose not have capture one
is there a free version like i think DB used to be
or do they have to spend on a program to open there images

  Capture One DB is free. Download Capture One 5, after installation at first start select DB mode (or something like that) and the program 'self-activates' and runs without time constraints. In this mode Phase One back files are fully supported, DSLRs files read-only.
  
  Note that their is no separate DB download anymore like in the CO 3.x days. One download fits all. Download page:

  In case you not only transfer the files but also the adjustments, be sure to use CO4 or later. If you use CO3, the client should download CO 3.7.x DB from the archive pages (on same URL as above) to be able to read your edits.
