Export files to Web (PBASE)
I am trying to export a RAW file variant to the web to upload for PBASE. Could be any platform.. 500PIX, Flickr, etc. PBASE's price has some appeal. Initial efforts resulted in very small files (picture size) but with high MB file size. Oddly, I'd like to hit something quite the reverse: small file size, but with reasonable size for the picture. Specs options are sooooo much different from Lightroom that I used to use that I am a bit mystified and thinking "This is gonna involve some real trial and error." Anyone been down this road have a suggestion? Would appreciate it. Thanks!

When I export for Pbase, I use:
JPEG Quality = 76
ICC profile = sRGB
Scale Long Edge (Never Upscale) 1024 px
This produces JPEGs in the range 180 - 300KB from Canon 7D MkII RAWs.0 -
Boy was that hard! It's NOT using the FILE EXPORT IMAGES, but finding the GEAR on the far right tool icons, selecting the JPEG and "banging on it until" it works, and finally I"m done. I've a 412KB image. Everything else seemed to come up with images that had 2500 KB to 7800 KB. Ouch! But now that I have it, I don't want to lose it. Yipes!
Thanks for your help.0 -
That's exactly the point to define an output recipe under the Gear Wheel toolset which holds the settings for a desired usage - such as Web images, those perhaps with copyright watermark inserted. 0
