    See v9.1.1. Release Notes rev1.3, page 18.
Did you activate the Sony tethering in the CO preferences?

It's advised to have only one manufacturer activated here. I learned that when using my Canons.

    Hi,

I normally shoot tethered with my Canon gear on a Mac Pro running Capture One Pro.

Just taken delivery of a new Sony A7Rii, hooked it up via the USB socket and opened Capture One, it doesn't appear to connect. The USB setting on the back of the Sony switches over to Mass Storage but no camera controls or live view.

I know there is a Sony version of Capture One, do I need this version to get it to work, thought the Sony would work straight off in the main program. And not clear in the documentation (which is minimal) if it has to be the (Sony) version.

Also any advice on what USB setting are needed.

    Thanks.

    Dominic

C1 Pro should work for all supported cameras.

The Sony versions of C1 are restricted to only support Sony cameras for RAW processing.

As I recall there was something about camera firmware updates that had some influence on tethering for one body a year or so back but I don't recall which body and in any case if your camera is new I would not expect it to be on old firmware.

HansB's suggestion seems the most likely explanation - of maybe a connectivity setting in the camera menu? (I'm guessing, I'm not familiar with the camera.)

    Thanks guys,

Sussed it. Was in the preferences - needed to select Sony. And also connect via PC remote on the USB settings on the camera.

Loving this camera, the image quality is fabulous (Canon 5Ds will be going up for sale!)

Could you tell us some more, I am thinking about doing the same thing, Had all my canon and lens stolen and was thinking about going with the A7rII to go with my A7sII for video and just have one line up, my concern is slow micro usb and 48mp files? Have you had any problems? Sure would like some more information and there are hardly any post or real professionals using A7rII tethered I figure. I am being offered a great deal on a Canon 5Ds from my Canon dealer and a great deal on a New A7rII and lens from the Sony dealer..
Would appreciate if you could give me some advice or your opinion if you have been using it for a while..
    Thanks
    Eric
