Sorry if this is a stupid question but I am a new user and cannot find an explaination of the file structures. What are the COP files in the proxy folders and the COS files in the Settings folders? Once I am finished processing do I need all these files?

.cop files are proxy files or cache files. They help Capture One show previews and thumbnails faster. They are generated automatically when you view a folder and there is no harm in deleting them, only Capture One will regenerate them if you view that folder again.

.cos files are settings files that holds all the adjustments you have made to your images. If you delete that, your adjustments to that image are lost. If you have processed your file and intend never to return to it again, you can delete it, but if you ever find yourself reprocessing files, I wouldn't do it.

If you are a Phase One DB user, you can pack your settings file along with your raw file into the new EIP file format, to bundle them together in a single file. In 4.7: File -> Pack as EIP.
