Problems with Canon 5DMKII
Already more than a half year I experience problems with stability of the connection of CO with Canon 5D mkII . Since I switched to Ver 6 the program is slow and crashes continuously on different computers. I have reported this to the support desk. I have had NO solution for the problem. It is quite impossible to work with this program anymore in a convenient way with my Canon 5DMKII. They're always blaming something else ... the mac, the disk permissions ... I have reinstalled CO at least 4 times in all possible ways even with disconnecting and reconnecting the software license , no use. Now I see on the forum that dozens of people are having this same problem with the 5DMKII and what does CO do .... NOTHING !!!
I am sick and fucking tired of buying new software and receiving no solutions for problems we experience. I don't wanna hear bullshit like restarting and checking disk permissions , I did this twenty times already. It is NOT my computer because when I work with my Phase One digital Back everything goes fine. When I work with programs like Lightroom it also works fine with my Canon 5DMKII . So please in the name of all these dozens of people who mention the problem with the Canon 5DMKII .... DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT !!! We all wasted our money buying your program, it's your turn to make it work like it should . With every upgrade I am hopefull that the problem might be solved but NADA.. Perhaps users should consider to quit working with Capture One Pro. I have worked with it for years and recommended it to everyone, but I have to reconsider this all because now it doesn't work properly anymore and Phase One does nothing about it. I think that they don't take this forum seriously !!!

After having vent your frustration - can happen every now and then - consider this.
A lot of tethering issues have been solved with newer versions of Capture One Pro 6.
A lot of tethering issues have been introduced by an OS X update.
A lot of tethering issues have been caused by newer MacBook Pro models with different power constraints at the USB port.
Comparing other hardware or software does not solve the issue.
The Canon 5D mkII is a popular camera model (I have one, and have no tethering issues currently). As a result you see more issues reported (and a lot were valid issues, and solved through updates). If there was really a general flaw in the software, this forum would have been flooded with posts. So consider there is something unique in your setup.
Long story short, consider if you like to discuss your issue here by providing more details about your setup like version of CO6 and OS X and so on (you know the drill). If it is too much of a hassle for you, leave it. It's my way to take this forum seriously.0 -
that for sure, CO is not the best software considering stability...
Today I did some 1800 pictures with no crash (5DMKII +tethered macbook pro(new one) ) but yesterday it crash 5 or 6 times.
It was slow at the end ( but I was shooting 1 image every second)
CO is like the weather sometimes sunny sometimes cloudy! 😕
