Unable to Edit - Past LR files?
I created a session and imported 20 files (NEF). The files we processed by Lightroom but I am learning C1 (2nd day) and wanted to try it on my photos.
My problem is that it will not let me do any processing. It recognizes the camera, lens, metadata but it will not allow me to change exposure, add adjustment layers, ... nothing.
I am guessing that it is because of the LR processing. Unfortunately, I never saved original files, I simply imported to LR . I do want to migrate from LR slowly (selected folders, photos)
Edit -- But maybe not ... as I downloaded and imported C1 test catalog and some files were protected and I could not edit them. Maybe it is some protection setting.
The tutorials are good but I already know how to process. Still looking for a good training source. This is a separate topic for another post however.
Thanks, this forum has already been great.

Hi,
Sorry, I don't understand. Your originals files (RAW) are still there, as Lightroom (as all other developing softwares) NEVER degrades the originals, but only saves the settings in its catalog.
So, if you catch up your original files from where they are, without any reference to Lightroom, and import them into C1, it should work.
Cheers,

Robert, you are correct, all I did was import to C1 from one of my folders that I put my RAW files in. They did happen to be processed by LR but import to C1 had nothing to do with LR catalog. Thanks for your reply.
Since the test catalog that Capture provides has some files that can not be updated, maybe it is a protection setting of some kind...0 -
Are you are using CO with the correct license activated? Only full 'Pro' will do Nikon raws. The license can be checked and changed from menu - 'Capture One 10' - 'License...'. Deactivate and restart CO to change.

Hans, that is it.... I only have C1 Pro for Sony... So I will not be able to process my RAW files from all my Nikon files. Wow, this is a big deal... But the price is great... I guess I am stuck with LR but still want to use C1 for my new Sony system.
Thank you.0 -

Thank you.
Did you purchase it or are you still using a trial? If you purchased the for Sony version by mistake, I suggest you contact PhaseOne. If you're still using the trial, you can change your licence in the app's menus.0 -

I have just started the trail. Good thought, it is just an expense consideration. Food for thought, I need to check out the price difference both the subscription and initial. Someone said that major updates were normally $100. If the major upgrades are the same for Sony Pro vs. Global, then the couple hundred up front is not too bad.
Anyhow thank you for pointing this out.0
