Why on CF Card Fileformat .TIF and not .IIQ
Hello
I use Mac OS X 10.9.5 and on my digibackback IIQ Raw L is defined.
After storage the photos on my Mac all files have .TIF as the end and not .IIQ.
A colleague with same OS has .IIQ.
Why is it so?

You have a P+ unit? This is a setting on the back under configuration (file extension)... 0 -

P units dont have the option. They shoot Tif extension though you can over ride it in the software if tethered.
The reason for tiff is the technology pre-dates the OS quick look architecture we have now .Tif was used as a common file type so that thumbnail can be seen and displayed in the finder/explorer without proprietary software.
IIQ was introduced to prevent users confusing Tif RAW and Tiff processed, but is fundamentally the same file.0
