WTF-1E Canon 5D and C1 questions
Hi,
At the moment I'm experimenting with the wifi module.
C1 shows the tumbnails from the capture folder but it doesn't run with the capture flow, meaning it will not show the new capture onscreen, also the renaming doesn't work, it keeps the RAW name.
Am I missing something (it's late over here 😄)
Greetings,
Frank

Hello
Naming will not work when it is not Capture One that is controlling the camera to computer transfer. n this case you have to do batch renaming after you have shot the session.0 -
Ok but what about showing the newest tumbnail in the series ? 0 -
Capture One does not repeatedly refresh the contents of a collection. It only scans the contents of a directory when initially selecting it.
You can force a refresh at any time by clicking the third-to-last button in the toolbar associated with the collection pane. It is a greenish icon of a hard drive with a shiney highlight on the upper left corner. The tooltip says, "Refresh contents of current collection". Or you can use the "Collection" menu and choose "Refresh". Alas there does not seem to be a hotkey bound to this action.0 -
I have no problem with the refresh of the directory, all pictures are coming in and are showing.
However with the USB connection you could see in the preview what you have captured.
Now the preview just stands on the last picture you selected, with USB the preview would hop to the next picture when one comes in, and so on.
This is a very valuable tool to check what's going on from a distance and for the model to follow what she is doing.0 -
USB/Firewire is considered tethered shooting. In that case Capture One is the initiator of the shot and is responsible for getting the data to disk. So it knows implictly that the directory has a new image--it put it there.
But with the WTF-1E an external program is pulling the data from the camera and writing the files. Capture One knows nothing about this happening behind the scenes.0 -
Will there be a solution for this in V4 ?
It seems to be easy to intergrate, a simple show newest file should do it, or am I oversimplyfing things 😄
I love to use C1, but this is a bit of a let's say it carefull, an not so easy as it was method 😄
If not I of course also understand, you can't do everything.0 -
Whether this feature will make it into 4.0 is a question for someone who works at Phase One.
I know programmatically it is very possible. I believe both Windows and MacOS have API hooks where an application can request to be notified when a file or directory is modified. Once notified of a directory change Capture One could get a more detailed directory listing and move the selection to the file with the latest creation time.
I envision the options controlling this would be something along the line of a check box, "Monitor collection for changes", and a sub-option, "Move selection to newest image".
Alas, feature requests for 4.0 are closed. 4.1 maybe? 😜0 -
Try:
File > Preferences > Miscellaneous Settings > and check Enable Hotfolder ( auto refresh the active thumbnail folder)
If this fails, then submit Support Case with a Feature Request.
Cheers,

The tumbnails are refreshed perfect.
The preview is not.
I use a 2 monitor setup.
When shooting with USB I see the tumbnails on the left monitor and the big preview on the right one.
When a new capture arrives this one becomes the new preview on the right one, and so on.
With the wireless system this no longer works, in other words the tumbnails are viewed when they arrive but the preview stays on the last one I previewd.
I hope this is clear 😄0
