And with great sadness I was not able to see my 5D mk II files today...

    So a few questions:

Is there a profile for 4.1.1 coming out?

or is 4.5.2 the only way (and can somebody then please supply me with free upgrades to Mac osX 10.5... I need two) If this is the case, then I am really miffed at paying for software I couldn't even use for a full year.

You have a 5D MkII for a full year or do I misinterpret the last line of your post? Never mind though, we are on 4.5.2 now and soon (?) 4.6 will surface which will include 5D Mk II support, according to statements here made earlier by Phase One staff.

Sorry to hear you were forced to buy and/or use the 5D Mk II <grin>, now you have to upgrade your Macs!

    Hahahaha... noo...

I meant that I bought C1v4 earlier this year, when I bought two MacBook Pro's and it was used to convert files from Canon 5D's.

10.4 Mac OS was installed on the MBP's and days later 10.5 was available, so I allready missed out there.

I am just a bit miffed that the software upgrade path was so fast. v4 to v4.5 in less than a year and no further support for the OS10.4? or new profiles or anything as such?

If this is the case, it seems I will have to go elsewhere for RAW conv software. Very sad about it. I just wish I knew my OS wouldn't be further supported, then I would have spent money on aperture or lightroom

    Sean,
Some data: OS X 10.5 was released over a year ago, 26 October 2007 to be precise. CO4.0 was released 19 Dec 07, CO4.5 released 15 Oct 08, a year after OS X 10.5. It is live in the fast lane with software these days.
CO4.5 has a lot of new profiles, but probably not interesting for you.

I hope you will find a satisfying solution for your needs, whether this is a next release of CO4.x or any other brand.

So Paul... what your saying is exactly what I am saying... V4 to v4.5 is less than a year appart, in which time I have no further support for any new profiles on the OS it was released on. This is a [dot] upgrade, not a version upgrade... and C1v4 was released on 10.4 not 10.5 although it's been available for a few months allready.

"Life in the fast lane" to you means "don't worry about the old clients" ?

Even microsoft keeps up support for older programs and OS's for a few years, not a few months.

I definitely would not have bought the software or even seen it as a solution if I read the note there on the sales page that said: "This software will not support any new profiles on your current OS within 9 months of purchase"

Sean, I think we agree on the facts and figures and the drop of 10.4 support for CO4.x has been quite a shock initially and discussed here quite extensively, including statements from Phase One (might be interesting to know) and myself (for what it is worth: 2 cents?). We don't have to argue about that. Question is what is your best way ahead? Only you can decide on that of course and find help and opinions here if needed.
