Ettore, did you try with the .RAF files? I guess the the DNG version is not supported (this happens also with some DNG native raw files from Pentax).

I have converted all the Raf in to DNG (I am a former LR user) and I don't have access to the original RAF any longer
All other Raw files (from Nikon and Canon camera ) which I converted to DNG are working fine
Only the DNG from the Fujifilm S3 pro and S5 pro have this issues and frankly It would be terribly disappointing if C1 wont support those especially since an average consumer product as iPhoto does!

    Thanks
    Ettore

    Ettore,
the only suggestion I have is to contact Phase One support service.
I guess when converting to DNG you choose not to incorporate the original raw. In the past I also considered to convert my raw files to DNG with the wrong assumption to move to a "universal" format, but unfortunately this is not the case.

    Thanks Ario

Somehow I find bizarre that iPhoto support it and Phase one doesn't!!
    I will contact Phase one

    Cheers

Did you contact the Support Department from your current account?
I only show 3 cases from this account, in 2006!

Regarding your question, we support the Fuji S5 RAW files. That is the RAW files as written by the Fuji S5. If you have converted the Fuji S5 RAW files to a different format, they are no longer Fuji S5 RAW files and therefore not supported. Unless of course you convert them to another supported RAW format such as Adobe DNG.
Perhaps, as you have converted the files in another program, you have converted to them to a Linear DNG which is not a RAW format. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital_Ne ... al_summary)

2 Years ago I converted all my Fujifilm S3 and S5 raw files + Canon 5D + Nikon D2X in to DNG using Adobe Lightroom
Everything works perfectly with the Nikon abd Canon DNG files while when I tried to import the Fujfilm DNG,C1 files it doesn't even see them in the importing window!

    What can that be?

    Thanks in advance

I believe that the answer is already in Drew's post. To rewrite, the Canon and Nikon raws are converted into Raw DNG. However, the Fuji S3 and S5 raw files use a different color pattern and might probably be converted into Linear DNG, which means that demosaicing has already been done.

Capture One does not support Linear DNG, only Raw DNG. Both DNG formats look the same from the outside, but are entirely different from the inside.

iPhoto is not supporting any raw format itself, but all imaging related apps in OS X borrow it from OS X image core, which is also at the core of Aperture. And iPhoto is borrowing it too.

Pro software has its limitations sometimes.

CO 7.1.1 now supports Linear DNG. Maybe it can not open your converted Fuji S5 Pro files.

    Thanks!
    Yes,it does!
The only issues is that in CO those Fujifilm linear DNG appear to be heavily underexposed !!!

The Linear DNG is still preliminary. However you can help us help you by sending us some raw+dng+jpeg shots. Then we might be able to adjust the support for it.

Yes I will, but I only have with me the DNG linear file but not the original RAW
would that help if I send it with a Jpeg?

If you really need in a few weeks when I am back in Europe I can take some more shots with the S5 and send you all you need

What i have noticed is that actually when I converted all the RAF files in DNG it was made using the non Linear option
this explain why in order to open those file in CO 7.1.1 i had to convert the DNG again using the the Linear option
isn't it weird ? My understanding was the C1 7 couldn't read the file because it was a Linear DNG!

    Thanks a lot

    Yours
    Ettore
