When you copy the .mos file with the Finder to you hard disk, can CO5 open them? In other words, is it the import from card function or is it a not supported format? See the release notes for supported cameras and backs.

The files are viewable and are importable in Lightroom.

Phase One have just got back to me and tell me they should be supported in the 5.1 update which is apparently coming this month.

I don't understand this as a previous demo version I was trialing of Capture One did import the .mos files fine.

    Andrew,
The previous version would not have officially supported the files. Although it may have allowed some access to them, the were never and are currently not supported. Please wait for 5.1.

Any idea when 5.1 is going to be released as I would like to see how this works before my trial is up in 27 days time?

    Andrew,
Soon... I would confidently say it will be within your remaining 27 days.

Ok, thanks for that. I look forward to it so I can process .mos RAW files in Capture One.

Hi Andrew, just a quick question. Which digital back you are using to get the .mos files?
    Fai.

It is a Leaf AFi7 back.

    Why do you ask?

.mos files is the raw format of Leaf digital back.
It can be come from Valeo, Aptus, Aptus II, AFi and AFi-ii.
If you are using Valeo, then you still cannot open it in CO5 even 5.1 is released.
If you are using the rest (now you are using AFi7), then CO5.1 is coming and you can using it to open you .mos file.

    Best Regards.

Hi Andrew, since we are talking days now, I think that your waiting will be worth while and that you are going to be very pleased with how 5.1 handles your Leaf files.

I'm very much looking forward to the 5.1 release.

I've been using lightroom but when I compared the quality of prcessed
images in capture one I was amazed at the difference.

However I do find lightroom to be more user friendly.

    Hi,

I've just downloaded the new 5.1 update, although I had to do a new install as the 'Check for Updates' menu in 5.0.2 didn't seem to do anything.

But I am now able to import .mos files so that's great and solves the problem.

Thank you for your advice and help.

    Thanks,
    Andrew

I use a Leaf Valeo 22wi and I am hope that this file will be supported in the future. I know even with this most recent version 5.1.1 it is not supported. I wonder why and is there any work around for this?

There is no workaround, the Valeo backs are a breed apart from the Aptus/Afi systems. We too hope to support these in the future but are not sure when that may be.
