Need advice on most effective workflow
I have been taking pictures of old paper pictures using a Sony a6000 w/ kit lens.
I download the jpeg into my W7 pc, then import into Capture One pro for Sony, do some minor corrections and export back to My Pictures folder (C drive).
Then I upload the jpgs to G+ to share with family. Afterwords I save the My Pictures folder (the variants) to an external drive (My Passport WD Ultra) and I delete the variants and originals from my C drive.
Since They are old pictures and too many I don't want to keep them in my C drive.
I am getting the pictures on G+ and also save a copy on the external drive, but is this an effective way of getting this done? Also when I move the pictures to the external drive Capture One cannot find them. How do I reestablish the connection?
A second question if anyone knows is: what are the best settings to take pictures of old pictures?

These are pictures of old paper pictures that I wanted to save in a digital form. I do not want to use too much space on my external drive. Shall I take the pictures in raw.

Hi,
to start, I've generally preferred to use a macro lens for this type of work because it has a flat field.
Then I use to shoot RAW because it allows broader and easier adjustments, for example to correct for colour casts.
And it's not necessary to have the files on your C drive. They can be stored as well on any external drive. The only thing to do is to inform C1 where the folder is (browser in C1). Then, when the folder with the files is opened in C1, at first opening C1 creates a subdirectory structure in the images' folder which holds all the preview and adjustment information. So if this entire image folder (including subdirectories) is moved to another place or drive, all what's needed to do in C1 is to use again C1's browser and direct C1 to the media / place to where the images were moved.0 -
