Just restarted the computer, restarted Media pro... The activity monitor tells me there are nine MediaPro 'importers' in action all taking up 245 or so Megabytes. The software is crawling and I cannot stop the progress bar at the bottom. I seem to remember you used to be able to stop it by pressing cmd stop.

Frustration... Come on fellas this used to be an excellent program...

oh and it crashed again just now too.

Either crashes on me or hangs there. Works on small batches about it.

Don't touch anything while the importproces is still running...
Btw, why don't you use the light table function to see more images together?

Hmmm ... The import process is always happening. I look at the Activity monitor and find that there are half a dozen import processes in action. One used to be able to stop that, but not now. Each of the import processes in using from 240 to 430 meg.

At the bottom of my catalogue, the 'scanning record' wheel is in 'permanent' rotation.

I was scanning through a large catalogue of 48k images, all of one seven year project, to make a presentation yesterday. That's why I was getting so cross... it kept on crashing....

The other trouble is that catalogues that are generated by Media Pro are not readable by Expression media, so reverting to an earlier iteration of the software is difficult.

I am trying to categorize over 8000 files, a few at a time, and every time I scroll Media Pro crashes. If I haven't saved that batch I have to do it all again. 8000 files is time consuming enough without having to do it several times. Is there any solution please?

OK I've since updated to the latest version. So far, so good. Although now I've probably jinxed myself.

Media Pro is so full of performance problems that ethical considerations would dictate that sales be immediately suspended, the program reworked by a competent engineering staff and a free upgrade or refund be given to those who have already invested in the product. If less in done in this regard the ultimate loser will be Phase One and it's reputation as a manufacturer of quality merchandise.
