using crop tool

I am using C1 Pro 3.5 for Windows. My question is: If I have already cropped several images, some vert and some horiz, and I have the vertical or 8x10 tool selected and I move to an image that has already been cropped horizontal, and I go to the menu to choose the horizontal or 10x8 tool, the crop that is there goes away... is there any way to prevent this?
