tethered capture speed

I shoot tethered between a canon 5dmkii and a 2010 power mac. Since upgrading to C1 7.2 the time for captures to show up on the monitor has slowed down noticeably.

Can anything be done to increase the speed (at least back to the way it was in C1 6.4).

  Check your Preview Size.
  If your shooting into a Catalog, you may want to shoot in a referenced workflow as appose to internal.
  
  The Canon software within Capture One 7 is still the same as 6.4.5 so from that end there's no difference.

  What size should the preview be? I use a NecPA271 monitor - 2560x1140
  I am shooting to a session

  If you want them to be created faster they need to be smaller. There is no rule as to what size they "should" be on your system, only what you want them to be based on your needs.

  You may also want to disable the lens correction and sharpening from automatically happening during tethered shooting, which to my experience are different between C1 6 and C1 7.
