    From the Release notes

    Camera support

RAW files support with known limitations listed in the notes section is available here. Special or auxiliary modes (like pixel shift) are only supported if noted. If the information provided is incomplete or you need specific information pertaining to support in Capture One, please create a support case - captureone.com/support.

As a RAW convertor C1 needs information and some specific settings from the RAW file to be able to function as intended.

My understanding is that any apparently "RAW" files of various types that are in effect "compound" file made from several images each of which will likely have different settings, will not contain usable data for C1 RAW conversion purposes.

My understanding may be wrong so I would suggest that you follow the suggestion on the last line of the paragraph pasted above.

By definition a compound raw file made up of 3 shots is not a "normal" raw file. Even Adobe doesn't support converting them to dng.

Personally I find that if you are interested in doing HDR then post process is the way to go, with something like Photomatix for which there is a C1 plugin.

Check out how the sharpness compares with a single shot. Many in camera HDR shots compromise sharpness simply due to CPU and time constraints.

Paul Reiffer's recent editing webinars have often covered the question of HDR processing and whether recent C1 versions - especially V20 - may in many cases make multiple image stacking an unnecessary additional chore.

He explains the thinking more clearly than I can. Recommended.

The question of movement, as IanS identified, and therefore sharpness is one aspect that he covered well.

I found out that editing in C1 actually seems to be possible, it is just the previews that aren't working (displaying only noise). Also, the images are to dark and the colors are a bit off, so some more editing are definitely required.

I have previously used Photomatix (version 5), but found it difficult to achieve natural looking photos, so I wanted to explore the in camera functionality together with C1.

Sharpness of the HDR images produces by the Fujifilm X-T4 actually seems to be quite good, of course depending on the situation, but even hand-held shots are usable in most cases.
