Import dialog is extremely slow

Your experience is similar to mine, although your file moving seems a lot slower than mine. These functions in C1, as well as "Synchronize Folder", slowed down a LOT when the new Heal/Clone tools were introduced a couple of "." updates ago. If you look, the size of the app also increased whoppingly, and I assume the two are related.

Hopefully this gets fixed in C1 21 (or 14 or whatever they end up calling it). I'd be surprised if there's another "." release in this version, but a fix would be nice.

Are you using sessions or catalog? According to my experience, the import (and deleting) was extremely slow with big catalog (around 70.000 photos). After creating new catalog with smaller amount of photos (around 5.000 photos from this year), import works as fast as before ...

I‘m using catalog. I also tried to split the catalog into two smaller catalogs. But it does not matter how small a catalog is. I also tried to switch off hardware acceleration .... no effect. I tried to save the catalog on an external SSD (Thunderbolt) and the pics on the internal SSD... no effect.

In addition to my first explanation, I observed, if I assigned a keyword to approximate 50 pics (RAW or JPEG) it takes about 20 seconds. I could not admit this behavior before, even with a catalog containing 70,000 pics.

I hope this behavior will be switched off with the next build of C1.

    Greats from RaBuDu
