Movimg Session with Session Favorites destroys session album?
Hiya,
anyone who could help to understand the following?
As I do NOT use COP for maintaining my master image catalog but am convinced it is the best RAW editor I use COP sessions whith a session favorite pointing into my master image folders on Windows 10.
This works quite well and of course I use session albums as well (smart/non-smart).
Now I had to move a master image folder to another drive - I deleted the (old) session favorite and added a new one, pointing to folder (same names, etc.) on the new drive. All fine, except the non-smart albums dod show now lost images. Relocating them under Menu-> Image-> Relocating did NOT help.
Any explanation or hint how to heal this?
Thx, Martin

Did you move the files using Capture One?
Your description suggests not.
Non-smart Albums are basically a user controlled list of locations and files. They are absolute references so far as I know.
If you move images that are part of an album using C1 the list should be amended as part of the process.
If you do it outside C1 you would need to recreate the album. As far as I am aware relocation is a natural option to have for a Catalogue based approach but not so much for a Session based approach where the connection of folders is a fundamental part of how things work. But the key is the "list".
You might consider whether for "Fixed" albums you could assign an identifier (Album name?) to all of the images in the album so that if, for some reason, the Album is lost or broken it would take only seconds to recreate it in a session so long as the session new about the folder(s) that contained the images.
Using a Keyword (or phrase) might be the easiest way to do that if some images might appear in more than one Album.

I think the best way to deal with situations like this is to create a session in the folder the original images reside.
I you create a session with the destination set as the image folder you want to work on.
In the Capture, Selects and Output folder dialogue boxes type .. (2 periods)
This sets the Capture, Selects and Output folders as your image folder so all of the images in the folder show up when you click on the sessions Capture folder.
The session folder is created as a subfolder of the Image folder and contains all of the adjustments etc for that session.Any round tripping, output etc end up in the image folder alongside the raw file.
Now when you move the image folder the session details go with it. Simply double click the session.cosessiondb file in the session folder and you are good to go.
Much harder to explain than to do :-)

Thx to all who replied...
In a nutshell, support confirmed that albuns in a session will get destroyed and need to be rebuild manully. The issue was forwarded to development - as so many other issues and might be resolved (or not)....
Appreciate the two work-arounds above..but I am stuborn...a session which is be definition movable should not show this behavior - it a fundamental flaw in the logical design, IMHHO
Anyhow, I could rebuild the albums in a couple o hours, so fine again till the next surprise...
