Looking for 'ingester' app that supports offline previews
I'm really enjoying using Capture One for editing, and cataloguing my photos.
I currently augment this with FastRawViewer for fast culling of new photos and around 15K of old raw images I'd like to reprocess now that that I better understand editing. However, whilst FastRawViewer is great at previewing hundreds of raw shots, it understandably struggles handling thousands of images.
I was looking for advice for an alternative app that would allow fast preview and image selection from these thousands of pictures ready to bring into Capture One sessions. Further, it would be great if I could preview these images whilst the hard drive holding the original is offline.
Obviously, I'm considering a huge Capture One catalogue for these images but wondered if PhotoMechanic or other tools would work better for this specific use case?
Cheers!

One word regarding "huge" Capture One Catalogs. Don't. You will be sorry. Trust me on this. Large Catalogs in C1 are exceedingly problematic. C1 knows and couldn't care less.

@Chrispher Dubea: I found similar problems with LR, up through LR 6 and my solution, terrible tho it is: create a new catalog by the year. I do the same now with Cap1-20. I hate this as a solution, but it's the only way I could increase productivity.

Being forced to do yearly Catalogs would drive me to another solution that didn't have that shortcominbe.
Luckily, I'm fortunate enough that LR cataloging behaves for me. I've got about 60k images in the library with no issues, knock on wood.
Additionally, I've managed to coerce C1 to play with LR as a third party DAM:

I still need to work on developing some output recipes from C1 to complete my workflow.
