    Hi Richard,

What do you mean by "mount" and "unmount" ? If you want to quit Capture One, don't click on the top left red dot of the window, but simply go to Capture One -> Quit. (or cmd + Q). And double click on the Capture One app icon in your application folder (or click on the icon if it is in the dock) to launch the software.

Richard it sounds like you are mounting the Capture One disk image and then after dragging the application itself to your Applications Folder you are then double clicking on the application on the disk image and running from that rather than the application that you have just dragged into the Applications Folder. The behaviour you describe would explain the failure of the program when you unmount the install image. Once you have dragged the Capture One application into the correct folder then you can unmount the disk image.

As Robert said after you have dragged the Capture One application/program into your Applications Folder open the Applications Folder and run the Capture One application that is in there. If Capture One is not in the Applications Folder something has gone wrong with your dragging. Disk images (.DMG files) are not intended to run programs from as a rule - they are just to display a virtual disk that holds the Application and or installer program and can then be unmounted after following the installation instructions.

Worked it out - dragging the DMG folder to the Applications shortcut folder on the Dock does not work. I had to open Finder and drag the DMG into Applications in Finder and then it downloads properly. For some reason dragging to the Applications shortcut on the Dock meant it did not download so it was loading from the DMG download. Same thing happened now I remember with C11. Never been an issue with other software. All working now, thanks for the replies.

    Richard,

The safer way to open a software is to open the DMG from your download location. Click the image disk, and then the application should appear with the well known icon. Then you drag and drop the application in your application folder.
