Capture One Pro 21 - Imported Catalog image variants No Star Ratings

First off, I do not appreciate the installation of the Phase One Miayama (sp) V Grip thing USB driver and it's variants to my computer when I don't even have that device.
You've improved the Importing of older catalogs for your version updates.. at least my catalogs loaded when I asked COP 21 to do so ... and all images loaded. I appreciate the effort.
EXCEPT the variants editing. Some came through like the straitening edit and Exposure edits, but not crops or star ratings made it through. No star ratings, so you can't search 15,000 plus photos. I have two catalogs they are the same; no star ratings and most have no variant editing saved. Some edits are there.. haphazardly among various images.... but still do not have star ratings. I don't use color or key words, thank goodness. I guess. It would really make me mad if all key words were missing and color codes/ratings too!

EIW, this is predominantly a user forum, so comments directed at C1 should probably be sent via a submit a request. That being said i am sure users would be happy to help if you restructure your questions so we can understand what the problem is.

What do I request and where can I find 'submit a request'? Are you saying I should submit a bug report?
Are you saying the Catalog back up feature doesn't or isn't supposed to save star ratings? I should request that feature in future versions? Or is it a bug.. that probably should have been fixed a long time ago in earlier versions and that I should submit a bug report?
Maybe I should do both.

Let me check if I understand correctly, you have a catalogue with images, some of those images have star ratings. You have backup this catalogue. When you restore one of these backups then the star ratings disappear, is this the issue? If so I ran a small test. I star rated some images in my catalogue, then made a backup and then closed C1, restored that backup, restarted C1 and the star ratings remain. So I am not sure what the issue is but C1 certainly stores the star ratings in the backup for me.
As for submitting a request, I would not worry about the FAQ too much, if C1 cannot provide a working link to the the FAQ then they must take the consequence of having people write what they like when submitting a request.

I found that FAQ on a different page under a different subject.. doesn't matter... I'm tired of explaining and re-hashing.
I'm sorry, I assumed every one knew I am talking about upgrading from C1 20 to C1 21, since we all got the go ahead to download it yesterday.
I have no problem importing catalogs that have been rendered with a version I started the Catalog in. It's switching from one version to another that messes up my edits and ratings. When first opening C1 21, it asks to upgrade the Catalog to C1 21.. there is nothing else to do but hit OK....... ending up with lost star ratings and some edits missing.

Firstly the installation of the extra Phase One family option programs is, at least during my installation processes, optional.
It always has been.
Secondly - yes create a problem based support case since what you describe suggests, as written, that you have some sort of problem.
However firstly we should probably ask you if you are using or have been using any external XMP sidecar lookup options since it would be an oversight not to check in the circumstances.
