I scanned roughly 2,000 scans into my computer from an EPSON V600 photo scanner through Adobe's latest Photoshop. The scans are largely from negatives and other transparencies with the occasional printed photograph. Most of the scans are being done in 6,400 DPI per image. Most are in B&W. Apple's Preview loads the images normally... the same can be said for the rest of my software except Capture One 21 (latest release version).
When I enter into my folders for the very first time I can see the images appear in my library. However I can see them (the thumbnail previews) all get to be updated. In this process I see black and gray bars over the images in a horizontal pattern.
I need to be able to view and edit them..... but I can't even view them.

Did you scan to RGB or to Grayscale. Capture One doesn't do Grayscale. My scans are always 48-bit RGB, even for B&W images. Waste of bits, but it is what it is.
Also, the DPI is irrelevant to this issue. All capture one will know is the picture is X pixels wide and Y pixels tall.
If you scanned to RGB color space what format did you use. I've never used Photoshop with my V600 so don't know what might be going on there.

I would never have guessed that Capture One wasn't Grayscale friendly!
I did scan them in Grayscale.... over 2,000 scans of them.
You seriously demystified the question I had! Thank-you so much! (Or rather Mahalo Nui Loa from here in Hawaii)
Additionally I wonder why Capture One does not state this issue more prominently as I'm sure they have a lot of photographers who work with B&W images that are results of scans!

Before we put all blame on C1, it would be helpful to know which file format you saved the images in.
