Error: Catalog with 115.000 Images: Import Add Folder, Syncronize
Hello,
I have an old Catalog from Capture 20 with 115.00 Images, I add an Folder und run syncronize, after shorttime, I receive an error:
"An unexpected eroor during imiort:Object reference not set to an instance of object."
I tried to import the folder to a new Catalog, that's working well.
Kind Regards
Rene

Hi,
Operating with Catalogs depends on your workstation characteristics and performance.
However, in general, it is recommended that a referenced Catalog should comprise around 10k-15k of images. It could be more or less depending on the characteristics of the computer.

Sorry to add: Depends on the used database too. And if Phase One uses SQLite (per example) this limits will remain very low.
For us who mainly create illustrated books or photo books working with a large stock of images many catalogs are a massive slowdown of our workflow.

Have the same issue with version Capture One 21 / build14.1 and no solution provided yet. I have tried to delete photos from Catalog but this doesn't help at all. "Verify Catalog" doesn't find any issues with Catalog.
Both my old Lightroom 6.14 and Adobe Elements Organizer 2021 don't have such issues with database / catalogs.Looks like database behind catalog is not up to scratch for the managing photos and I am starting to regret my decision to purchase Capture One Pro instead of going with Lightroom Classic.

"... it is recommended that a referenced Catalog should comprise around 10k-15k of images."
Really? That is a very small catalog. Does this mean that the performance will deteriorate with bigger catalogs?

Not only the performance goes down when fokusing on "All images", the stability suffers in some cases too.

Apart from not being able to add images / synchronize folder I do not have any performance issues
- catalog 63k images
- OS Win 10 build 21H1/19043,
- CPU i7-8550U 8th Gen, 4 core 4GHz,
- RAM 8GB,
