Capture On 20 will alway renew the preview Files from my Canon R5
Hello
I have an big problem. I buy an new Canon R5. I import my first Shooting in an Session. But now everytime I open the session Capture One start to render new preview images. If I navigate throw the shooting whit the arrorw keys C1 starts also renew the preview images of the shown images. My settings are RAW only (no CRAW) and Dual RAW is disable. What is stange: Images from an other R5 don´t have is behave. What can it be ? The diffrent are the glasses. I only have an Canon Adapter and use EF glasses (85mm 1.8 and 135 L)the R5 with no problem I use the RF 70-200 2.8 L
I convert my images to DNG now everythings works fine but that is no solution for me.
I download the demoverson C1 21 and V21 has the same behaver.
Yours

Mark,
If you check the dates on the preview view files are they really being recreated?
I cannot comment of the observation that all works for one R5 and not another. That has no logical reason that I can think of if you are writing about the import process.
The usual reason for a lot of disc activity is that Capture One pre-loads the previews into memory in preparation for editing.
If the preview size used is not quite close to the screen display dimensions (pixel dimensions) it may need to do some recalculation. Either reducing the size of increasing the size for a "Fit" to the screen. If it needs to recalculate all of them at the tome of load there may be quite a bit of processing involved. If you are working with a lot of files the efforts to hold as much in memory as possible may mean that processed files are being moved onto and out of RAM memory on held in temporary temporary files in disc.
If the current settings for your session have some other features enabled - for example proofing or watermarking or similar there will be some additional processing that overlays the preview file with its's added edit data applied to present that information as well.
All of this assumes that the process that creates Previews and thumbnails when images are imported completed successfully at that time.
Once a preview file has been created it is generally true that it will not ne regenerated unless something specific happens that requires a recalculation. In general that will either be an instruction to recalculate because you wish to change the size of the preview file or, possibly, if the image has be set to use a newer update Process Engine (Typically an update that is made available at the time of a Version change). This is usually optional if images have been process in earlier versions of C1.
If you are really seeing changes to preview files every time you access the files then something unusual is happening and you should probably create a Support Case with the Support Team and get them to analyze the system's Log Files.
To do that use the "Submit a request" feature found at the top of most Community webpages and in a few other places as well.

AH!. That's a rare one. I vaguely recall seeing that mentioned as a possible cause during a discussion in the forum some time back. Not something I have experienced personally (that I know of) so it does not come instantly to mind for this problem description.
I must try to remember it - it would save a lot of typing to suggest it in a quick post!
