    Ulrich,

I'm not a catalog user but as I am currently testing a new computer I decided to try a test catalogue to test catalog import.  Not too many images but quite large files, edits and several variants.

All images (referenced  - so stored outside the catalog folder structure) and their edits and variants were imported.

It is possible that the problem that is causing your thumbnail issue also causes the lack of edit data.

In fact the lack of working links to the edit data would likely be the cause of both problems.

Have you already run the Verify procedure on the catalog?  File menu > Verify Catalog or session (near the bottom)

If not I would recommend doing so as the next step. What comes after that may depend on the results reported.

Verify the catalog: I did that two times now, no problems reported. Thumbnail of imported pics still faulty.

Next step is: I create a complete empty new catalog, import pics there, edit them and then close the catalog. I will then try to import this new catalog into another fresh catalog completely empty, see whether the edits get imported or not.

    Ulrich,

I think my general conclusion from your description of the problem and the fact that you a have already run the verification is that it seems likely that there is something seriously wrong with internal indexing and/or data record connections within the catalog database.

The verification can only really look for links that connect one piece of data to another. They probably cannot easily tell whether the connection connects to the correct data if something has gone wrong internally. Obviously if the connection was from a file identified as an image to a file that identified as a spreadsheet then it may be possible to conclude something may not be quite right. But of the file is of the right type trying to assess whether it was exactly the right image might not be so easy. Or even possible.

If you have not done so already I would strongly suggest that you create a Support Case with the C1 Support Team using the "Submit a request" link.

thanks for your support, I submitted a request.

I am away from the machine which runs C1 right now as I took my 82 year old mum to the vaccination place but will fiddle around with C1 later today.

I toyed around with importing catalogs and tatata for some odd reason now the adjustments are imported, the new catalog seems to get it right with the thumbnails.

Apparently something is wrong with the "old" catalog, backup is ten times faster now
