Tether problem

It may depend on the camera and what sort of connections it offers to a host computer.

If you are using a Canon make sure the memory cards are removed so that the computer, on connection, does not see it as a "Mass Storage " device.

In addition if you are running the Canon connectivity software in any form it is likely that that application will take control of the camera connection before Capture One has a chance to connect.

Some Sony and Fuji cameras (not sure about Nikon) now have connection settings that allow connectivity even if the cards are left in the cameras. (Or so I understand  - I do not have any of those myself.)

I  downloaded C1 trial version for my Sony a7r2 with Catalina 10.15.7 and was never able to have it recognize my camera. Customer support eventually gave me lengthy code instructions that a programmer would have to decipher and which I was not willing to play with. Too bad but I'll stick with the lesser version of Sony's Imaging Edge software that works fine with a tether and my camera.

I have a similar problem with my Canon 5dsR, and as SFA said, I need to remove the memory cards (1 CF and 1 SD) so that C1 can detect the tethered camera.

This DID NOT HAPPEN BEFORE, I do not understand why this is an issue and I strongly think C1 must improve this, as for example photographers often pass from tethered to untethered on a job (still-life on a tripod, then details hand-held for example), I do not want to have to play around with the memory cards all the time for obvious reasons.

Especially that this WAS NOT a problem on previous versions. C1, please be transparent about this and explain.
