Capture 20 not recognising Nikon camera
Hi,
I've been using Capture One 20 for about 5 months now on my Mac Book pro, I've had some issues with it at the very beginning (it randomly chose when to recognise the camera, other times it just wouldn't) but it sort of settled and seemed to work fine until today.
I've previously used Capture One 11, but ever since upgrading my Mac software to Catalina, the old Capture just wasn't responding hence why I got the Capture One 20.
Fast forward to today, I've deiced to delate the old Capture One (11) off my applications folder as I wasn't using it and for some reason, that seemed to have affected my new Capture One (20). It stopped detecting my camera again and I have no idea why. Is it because I removed the earlier version? But surely that shouldn't affect it if I'm not even using it anymore?
I'm now looking to upgrade my software once again to Big Sur and hoping this will resolve the issue...
The camera isn't the issue as I've got the version for Nikon and I'm using Nikon D610 to shoot.
Any tips at all would be super helpful!

When you connect the camera some sort of application will automatically try to connect to it. Photos is a common candidate on Apple and also now on Windows based systems.
Check to see if that is happening. You may need to disable any such auto-connection modes to allow Capture One some chance to connect.
If not that then check the log file to see if that provides any clues about what is happening.
