It's especially annoying when using the hand tool whilst doing spot removal around an image!

Must be an intermittent fault - I've just opened C1-20 which was okay. Reopened 21 and its working okay now! Will keep an eye on it. H

Yep. I've reported it as a bug. I suggest everyone does the same.

Same here. Intermittent - I haven't worked out what triggers it yet.  But once it starts the only solution is to restart C1.

Sound like a possible conflict with an OS feature or perhaps another application running at the same time?

Well done, SFA. I checked and yep, spacebar was an OS shortcut.

Resetting the "Input Sources" shortcut to default seems to have fixed the problem.

    Regards

hmmm...  maybe, but I'm pretty sure this has only started happening with v21.

And plenty of applications use Spacebar+mouse to pan the display. Such as Photoshop. And it is only C1 v21 that behaves like this, and intermittently.

Yep. I don't know how or why, but it appears that the MacOS shortcuts weren't the default ones. Hitting reset to default resulted in the settings shown in the shown above: ^ Space and ^ Option Spacebar - and from a brief try within CO, I was able to use the spacebar as a shortcut!

I have the same problem. When I work on my office rig with dual monitors. After a while a repeated failure dong sound appeared as I hold down the space bar. Keyboard Input Sources doesn't seem to have an effect.

It's hard to recreate. I rapidly use all sorts of keyboard shortcuts. I was going trough images adjusting white balances, adding a style, making adjustments and pasting adjustment to other images. I think it happens when something is selected trough systemwide keyboard navigation. Tab key to move focus and Space as enter.

    MacOS Big Sur 11.2.3 (20D91) + Capture One 21 (14.1.0.220)

Regarding this issue, this is "space bar" issue I think I have found "how it works"

Happens when I do the following:

    - I have manually written a numeric value in any of the input text boxes in the interface and press enter
    - Then press space bar to pan the photo and that sound happens.

    The Workaround:

    - Click on the layer you are working on so it gets selected (yellow highlighted)
    - Then space bar works as expected

Nevermind... once I use the brush again, layer seems to lost focus and "space bar" problem starts again...,

    Hopefully I gets fixed soon!

I noticed this today when I was doing something in Affinity Photo (where you can also hold down the space bar to temporarily get the hand tool) and it did the same thing. Perhaps it is a MacOS thing rather than a Capture One thing?

Hey folks, I'm having the same problem. It's extremely annoying! Does anyone have a solution?

Not yet for me, I can only make it stop happening for a few actions/minutes and then it comes back - I think it's a bug that capture one need to fix!

    Space Bar Noise

    Im having the same issue.

It happens after using one of the masking tools. If I click on a different layer and then go back to the current layer it stops. as soon as I use a masking tool it starts again. This never used to happen before the upgrade.

Okay, I've upgraded my Mid 2012 MacBook Pro from High Sierra to Catalina and the problem is solved. I've resisted updating to Catalina as when I tried Mojave a couple of years ago I entered a world of pain taking time and money getting back to HS. Anyway all seems okay (except Ebay doesn't work in Safari Browser), I use my laptop for shooting tethered to C1 and works on both my Canon 5D MK4 and P25+ Back. I recommend backing up on Time Machine first as this will be the quick way to go back to your present operating system. I'll probably upgrade my Late 2014 iMac from High Sierra to Catalina soon, I do my C1 image editing on the iMac, so this is where the space bar issue is more of a problem for me. H

Update - I did a shoot tethered to my laptop (Catalina OS) using the Canon 5D-4 and whilst showing images of their portraits to my subjects it started doing the same old space bar problem - so it seems it didn't sort the problem after all!

I don't have a fix but I did find a workaround. On my mac, I went to System Preferences to the Sound options. I clicked on the Sound Effects options and turned the Alert volume all the way down. That doesn't explain what the alert is but at least it mutes it. FYI

Hi, I have the same issue: MAC MINI M1 with macOS Big Sur 11.4 and Capture One 21 Pro: 14.2.0.136.

Kind of annoying. Sometimes it does help, if I select Background Layer.

Hey great! I'm not imagining I'm the only one with the issue. It does appear to have started with C21.

Having the same issue if I switch from "move" to masking.

    Using iMac Big Sur.

it even stops my NAD music streamer playing music!!

Looking forward to have this bug fixed..

    I use macOS Big Sur.

I have also had this problem since switching to Capture One 21. It's clearly not a conflict with shortcuts on macOS, see screenshot.

No matter what tool I am in, when I press the space bar to move the image, the warning beep sounds. I find this very annoying.

Hi, the problem is still there in version 14.3. In my case it started when I upgraded to C1 21 and it's still there after all the updates released so far.

I just updated to Version 14.3. and the behavior is still the same. I'm in contact with the support and sent a video that demonstrates the problem. Hope, they will fix that.

Just a me too. Ridiculous situation!

Hmm. Incessant beeping when panning with Hand Tool in editing. Unless... you're looking at the layers palette, and your active layer is highlighted. No beeping when panning. C1, over to you!

Today I received a reply from the support team and they told me that this is considered as a bug and they sent it to the developers with all the details (my report and video).
