Default import settings for each catalog

I have specific import folders for each of my catalogs. Once imported I then distribute my images to various folders. The problem I encounter if I forget to change the import folder and the images are imported into a folder which is for my purposes is outside of that particular catalog's folder structure. I know that the folder is added to the library and I can drag and drop but I think it would be simpler if every catalog had its own settings, particularly for the 'Import to' drop down.
