Creating Opaque Shaped Layers
I'm new to digital photography. I have Capture One but I don't know how to use it yet.
I'm trying to create a shaped image within CO to be turned opaque and then colored so as to obscure the background layer. I don't understand the terminology or the techniques well enough to describe much more than that. I'm imagining that this is possible and simple enough to do, but what language should I be using to find the right tutorial online? Is there a best practice for doing this sort of process within CO?

If you want to paint a surface within a layer, it won't be very easy to do it with Capture One, although it is possible. The best tool would be a graphics software, such as Photoshop or Affinity Photo. Capture One is mostly a development software, to which has been added some correction layers, but with limited possibilities when compare to Photoshop, for instance.
