Move Annotations and Metadata from Adjustments Clipboard to separate panel
ImplementedHi, often I need to copy and paste meta data between several images. Unfortunately it's quite hidden in the lower "Adjustment Clipboard". Before I got already the same problem in Lightroom and Aperture, when I want to batch edit the metadata, i forget to toggle off the process adjustments and accidentally stamp photo edits too.

Phrank,
If you use the Metadata Tool to make the copy of Metadata to the clipboard only the metadata with entries will be will be copied.
Would that still leave you with a problem?

Hi SFA, thanks for the reply, I know how it works in C1, but I’m not happy how it works. If I'm in the Metadata panel i only Metadata (and Dehaze) is showing up.
I think the Adjustments clipboard should rather belongs only to photo processing.
I would prefer if Metadata to be a separate panel also including Keywords and Annotations. Or call this feature "Metadata Synchronisation" which only copy and paste these text metadata.
P.S. Okay, I’m new to C1, still learning, but I really wonder about the GUI, where some functions are placed. For DAM it’s not so easy work for me.

Phrank,
You can re-arrange which tools are in which tabs and even create your own tabs with combinations of tools if you wish. To suit your own workflow.
However my point was slightly different to that in that for most tools there is an option to use the clipboard with information supplied ONLY from the data the tool manages. So in the case of the Metadata TOOL (which may be ONE of the tools appearing in the Metadata related TAB)
So if you have the Metadata TOOL open and then copy-to-clipboard the settings using the feature in that tool, the clipboard should then ONLY include the Metadata from the selected image. Any adjustments for tools other than the Metadata tool will not exist on the clipboard.
The copy action will, by default, show the list of fields available in the tool and which fields have non-default data entries. This data will remain in the clipboard until is refreshed by a further selection somewhere that updates the contents. You can make specific selections of fields to be applied to other selected images by ticking or unticking the boxes available for each field.
In the case of the Metadata tool, the number of fields available is significantly greater than it is for many other tools but in my experience, they are usually all visible in the window that opens up. Certainly many less than you would see with a full-image "copy and paste adjustments" copy. On that basis it could be a better way to access the Metadata management options in the way that you wish to make use of them.
There are other options that might also work for you. For example, once you have at least one image with a particular metadata field populated, if you make those fields part of the Filters Tool data display (available by default in the Library Tab but not with all available fields displayed), then you can select one or multiple images in the browser and simply "drag" them over to the required field in the Filter Tool for the values in that field to be applied to the selected images.
Whether the "mass copy and paste" via the clipboard or the "drag and drop" method is the best option very much depends on the details of the specific updates you need to apply. I think most people will be using both approaches depending on workflow needs and available data.

Hi SFA,
thanks a lot for the your time. "Mass copy and paste" names my project pretty well. I’m testing and trying everything – as you have probably seen in my other posts. This drang and drop thing I also use often (if it works) – known from MediaPro.
Just select images and type in the fields which will change it for all selected images is faster than copy and paste metadata via Adjustments.
I just wish C1 would adapted some more of the easy DAM workflow features from MediaPro and make all meta data assessable.
