Removed JPEG2000 Support in Capture One 21 14.1 - bring it back!
Hi,
I was hyped for the new Capture One update for the Apple M1 processor, especially because picking the white balance took forever on the unoptimized version 14.1.
When I updated, however, I had to find out that my complete analog picture library got incompatible with the new version. Nearly 99% of my analog scans are stored as .jp2 / JPEG2000. You're probably wondering: Why do you still use JPEG2000, what the hell?
Well, the laboratory developing my films scans all material on a Cintel Scanner and then sends it out to customers as uncompressed as possible - but still with moderate file sizes. In the past, they used TIFFs for that, but these files were far too big for customers to download, with over 100 MB per picture. They switched to JP2, as it still provides a near-raw experience, but keeps the size down to about 25 MB per pic.
It'd be awesome, if you could add jp2 support again.

Same issue!

You likely won't be noticed by C1 here. I kindly suggest to submit a feature request or post in the feature request topic.

I honestly don't why. This doesn't make any sense. I started shooting analog film with my Leica M7 and got all my images in JP2, ...and now this.

My guess would be that the web based analytics across all available source probably show that very few people are using jpg2000.
I also note that, according to Wikipedia (yes, I know, not always a reliable source ....) some significant prime competition for C1 does not offer support.
There will be a support cost involved, one way or another.
All costs, whether resource, time or fiscal, need to be reviewed periodically.

This is terrible and ridiculous. One big 35mm motion picture film company sends lossless negative scans with jp2 format to customers. So this means that you have to stick with Capture 20. And if you want to use Mac with M1 native support. Well you only get it with Capture 21. lol.

Please bring back jp2 support! We need it...

Same problem. Cannot use my Silbersalz35 files any more. This renders C1 22 useless for me.
