Changing color when adjusting exposure

Why would the LAB colors readout change when I adjust exposure. For that matter why would the LAB Tint readout change when I change the Kelvin? Why would the Kelvin LAB readout change when I change Tint?

Does this happen in the real world?

Please help me understand.
