Can't open or make sessions in APFS drive on windows (using paragon APFS for Windows)

I'm just starting out using a surface pro for tethering when on location but would like to have the flexibility to review and work on other shoots stored on an external APFS drive from this device even though I use Macintosh computers back at my studio. I have Paragon's APFS for windows running, and have no issues with any other software accessing files or folders on this drive. But when using C1 14.3.0 I can neither create a new session or open an existing session that resides on this drive.

The sessions are able to be opened and created on the same drive with my Macs.

I've emailed Paragon but any info from anyone who's using the same setup would be appreciated.
