Sort pictures by file name
Hi,
I recently went from lightroom to capture one and have a problem sorting my pictures by name.
My pictures are named in this format: YYYYMMDDHHMM
Sometimes there are some digits added - I think seconds and milliseconds.
Capture one converts these file names to a number. This leads to the fact that the longer names with milliseconds are arranged further down.
Lightroom sorting by name:
1
10
2
3
4
capture one sorting
1
2
3
4
10
I can't rename this amount of pictures. Besides I work with Lightroom as well and I would have to teach Lightroom all the new names.
Sorting by Date doesn`t work for me, because lots of pics are scanned from paperpics and don´t contend the date they were originally taken.
Is there any way to sort the pictures by name without CaptureOne reading them as a number using the place-value system? Just the way Lightroom does?
Thanks for your help!

Mine are named with a date at the start too. But I use the format 2021-01-31-[counter]. The result of this is that they are sorted in the same order by date (which is my default in Capture One) and in the OS file system too.

Hi Ian,
thanks for your quick answer. New pics directly imported from my cam are automaticly converted that way. But I have to import 50000 pictures from Lightroom wich are named without hyphen.
