When opening catalog all images automatically clone what apparently is the last image in the folder

When opening a catalog where I keep floral images which are all different, but when it opens, the images are automatically cloned to the same image which appears to be the last image in the folder. Any ideas why this is happening and how to fix? See example below where the first image shows what it should look like. I have to click on each image to correct. The last image shows what it first looks like when I open the catalog.

  What do you mean by this? Do the images disappear when you click on them?

  Did you maybe export this image 26 times?
