V14.3 a big step backwards
As a long time C1 user and studio photographer since v3.7 I also find the changes in v14.3 to be an incredibly retrograde and frustrating step backwards.
I shoot a lot of manual focus stacks (using Fuji or Hasselblad cameras)
I process the stack of captures for each product out to a separate sub-folder for stacking.
- I need the Next Capture Naming AND the Output Recipe tools available from the main UI so I can quickly enter the product code into the image name and the output sub-folder name before shooting each stack. Like they always were before 14.3
- I need to be able to quickly switch process recipes on/off from the main UI - for instance to switch between 8 bit reduced size jpegs for remote customer previews and 16 bit Adobe RGB TIFFs for retouching.
- I want to just be able to hit Cmd-D once I have selected a set of images for processing, I don't want to have to go through a dialogue to select or type in the right recipe/location/sub-folder.
- If I make a mistake when I process images out (wrong images selected - which happens) I need to access the batch queue to stop the queue and delete the images from the queue before processing the correct set. Like before 14.3.
- Now I seem to have two completely blank tool tabs with generic C1 icons that correspond to the Output tab and Batch Queue tab and which I am unable to add any relevant tools to.
And Capture One has increased its upgrade pricing? It seems to be focused on recruiting Lightroom users and has lost touch with what studio photographers need.
