Rename Counter for Selected Images

Hello!

I would very much like to be able to only re-number the images without effecting the files names. For example, I have a purpose to manually re-order my images and sometimes I need to re-do the order after I have batch renamed the images using the rename counter. Should I need to move a couple after the fact, I have manually change the counter for each image.

If there could be a way to only re-count the images selected from a set starting number, I think that would be a wonderful addition to this task.
