    To test if it is C1 in combination with your graphics card, set the display option from Auto to Never (in the preferences dialog):

    Thanks BeO. I made the change you recommended. It working OK now. I think the problem was caused by a significant Windows 10 update applied to my computer a few days ago. Thanks again.

    Ok. Now you know it works without hardware acceleration from the graphics card (setting "Never").

    You could now try to fix the problem so that you can benefit from the acceleration your graphics card might give you (in case it was actually faster than your CPU). It is often solved by installing the latest graphics card driver. See if you can do a driver update and change the setting back to "Auto".

    Thanks for the additional help.  I am reading and trying to understand this information about updating the graphics card drivers.  I haven't noticed any difference in speed so far, but I will try to update the drivers after I digest this information.
