Moving a session to a catalog
I use sessions for portrait shoots but like to put all my other work into my catalog. I accidentally imported some wildlife photos into a session and have trouble finding them. I want to move the original files and edits to my catalog without changing the location of the files. I want to manage these files from my main catalog. How do I do this?

You can import them to a catalog.
EITHER
In the catalog, you can import using the Import dialog.
- In the Import From section, choose the folder where the images are. You should see the images in the viewer section of the Import tool but DON'T CLICK IMPORT YET!
- In the Import To section choose Add to Catalog - that will just add the images to the catalog in their existing location.
- Make sure in the Adjustments section that you check the box to include existing adjustments.
- Now you can click to Import. (Unless you want to exclude some of the images in which can you can deselect some first).
OR
Go to File>Import Session, which will add the whole session and all the session folders (Capture, Selects, etc) without giving you any control over whether to import all the images. Quicker but less versatile than the first method.

An important caveat about importing a session into a catalog: Once in the catalog any and all future edits must be made from the catalog, not the original session. If you make changes in the original session the changes will not be seen in the catalog. The opposite is also true; changes made in the catalog will not be seen in the original session.

@James,
If the original files are not moved when "importing" them to the catalog (better: telling the catalog to manage them in their current location) then they are still located in the Capture Folder of the session, right? Wouldn't this be confusing in the long run?
After import, you could move them from within the catalog library tool using drag and drop.
@Marco
That's indeed a pity. To circumvent this I would like to create a master session for sessions instead of a master catalog. But the inability of sessions to look into sub folders hinders me as I would have to add (and maintain) too many folders to the favorites in order to conduct global filtering or smart albums.
Therefore my request: https://support.captureone.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/4405765111441-Sessions-Show-images-from-sub-folders-session-folders-smart-albums-session-favorites-0
