finally... a release that might just be worth the money!
I've been using C1 v11 since it came out years ago. I've watched as new releases have come and gone and have seen nothing that, IMO, qualifies as a major release and I've seen nothing that worked justify paying another $250 or $300 for... until today. I got a mass mailing from C1's marketing saying that they had in production now HDR merge and panorama stitching. This has been available in Lightroom for a decade and now, like some Galapagos tortoise, capture one has woken up and said, 'well look at that - our competition is ahead of us. I guess we'll have to try and fix that".
I'm thrilled that they're developing these two features and will probably upgrade when they come out- if they don't screw up the implementation of them or don't fully implement them.
C1 v11 is pretty buggy, has massive memory leaks, crashes or locks up often, and its catalog searching is almost as fast as that Galapagos tortoise. If they have fixed big bugs, memory leaks, and have brought catalog search speed into the 21st century I'll be thrilled to upgrade!! I have trouble believing that the big bugs will be fixed and that search speeds will be faster than a snail but I guess anything could be possible.

And C1 is announcing their plans ahead of time. That's actually very different from their past communcation strategy.

Probably why later versions are called "upgrades", then...
