    Timothy,

I just read that press release article fairly quickly.

Does that mean that LA and ACR could not mask like that before?

Sounds like they are catching up.

    Hi SFA,

    Catching up?

Looks as if they can define a (parameterized) color range restriction, something C1 cannot do?....?

    Cheers,
    BeO

It will be interesting to see what that will do.

If one has a mask based on a "dynamic" selection of a colour and then the colours are changed by some other interaction in editing, what happens to the image?

How does the functionality compare with creating a mask and then establishing that within that mask, certain colours, if they occur, should be adjusted in a certain way?

I used to use an application, years ago, that appeared to have far more advanced options for manipulating the data related to the stack of layers (with mask like abilities) that one could create. By advanced I mean that all of the tools that were available  - blend methods, etc.,  - could be deployed.

The order of the stacked tools was important since each layer adjustment was applied to whatever results  had been achieved in lower layers. One could be extremely creative, sometimes when one did not wish to be so creative.

Presumably the often overused term "AI" deals with that in LR and ACR in the same way that Photoshop does. It will be interesting to see what it all means.

Maybe I am not on track, but why don't you use the possibilyty of creating mask out of the color editor?

    Kind regards
    Ernst

Lots of moaning but no actual EXAMPLES of your problems with masking, Timothy.

    I'll assume it's user error...
