Capture One 21 (v14.4.0) slowing when viewing files at 100%

I have a Mac mini 2018 (6-Core Intel Core i7 at 3.2 GHz, 32 GB of RAM, 2 TB SSD storage in APFS) running the latest MacOS 11.6 version.

I have been having the following issue with Capture One 21, issue which is getting worse with version 14.4.0: 

After I browse 4 to 5 images (Nikon D850) from my catalog and zoom to 100%, C1 hangs for 30 sec or more until I can continue browsing.

The performance of Capture One 21 is getting worse and worse as compared with that Capture One 20.

What is wrong with the software?

Why is there not a scratch disk functionality or a cache system like in Adobe PS + LR?

I have a very fast 2TB SSD storage on a cinema dock that I use for PS. Why can't I use that for C1???
