Keyword Library

Keywords won't delete if they're embedded in the original image file's EXIF; you'll need to edit in the image file if this is the case.

I don't understand your second point. Changing a keyword in the Library just changes its entry in the Library and I wouldn't expect all images that used the old keyword to be updated, To change what's assigned to images, I'd expect to have to change them in the images. For example:

Suppose the library originally had "Dog" as an entry and I'd assigned "Dog" to a lot of images. Later I decide that I "Dog" should really be "Canine" and I change the library entry appropriately. Then thinking about it, I realize that "Dog" is a type of Canine, as is "wolf", and it might make sense to keep the old keyword and add the new keyword to those images, or maybe do something else with already labeled images. Why would I expect Capture One to know what I'm thinking about keyword assignments? Not a great example, but maybe it will help you.

    Larry,

Your second point, if I understood it correctly, is in part that you have added a new Keyword based on an existing keyword and it did not immediately show up? Or at least not until one of your actions refreshed the underpinned KW library into working memory.

    Is that correct?

Either way, if you wish to take this into a discussion with Capture One you will need to use the "Submit a request" option in the community pages to create a Support Case.

"Keywords won't delete if they're embedded in the original image file's EXIF; you'll need to edit in the image file if this is the case."  - Great thanks.

"Why would I expect Capture One to know what I'm thinking about keyword assignments? Not a great example, but maybe it will help you." - I certainly wouldn't expect sophisticated AI to be implemented in keyword assignments. However, I suppose we have different expectations. Thanks again for the explanations, it was helpful.

    Cheers

    SFA,

That's correct and will do. Thanks for the help.

    Cheers
