    Tibor,

Does your retoucher use Capture One?

If "Yes", is it the same version that you have?

    Hi!

Yes, she's using Capture One 21. Good point, I'll verify the exact version.

    Thanks

    OK.

EIP would be the usual way to go and then import (if using a catalog) or choose whether to import or not using a session.

As far as I am aware the "DNG" export is nothing more than a file format conversion with DNG being treated as a different RAW file. So no edits would be included.

If importing to a catalog she would need to tick the "Include existing edits" box. The same if importing to a session but if opening directly in a session should not be necessary as far as I recall if EIP files are used. However, that may have changed for some situations in recent releases so do not rely on that observation at this point.

Thanks again. That’s what I thought.
She’s ticking the box as well. But: she’s using C1 20. Is that the problem?

    Yep.

C1 21 would be OK with C1 20 files but not the other way around. 21 offers enough changes to tool functionality in some cases that there is a good case for simply applying a cut-off between the two.

Other than updating I'm not sure what to suggest.

I assume she has a Perpetual license?  (If she is using a subscription then updating to V21 would seem to be the logical thing to do.)

    Two things to consider.

It is possible to run with a monthly subscription, one month at a time. HOWEVER, BE AWARE THAT THE T&Cs INDICATE THAT SIGNING UP TO A SUBSCRIPTION WILL NEGATE ANY PREVIOUS PERPETUAL LICENSE RIGHTS.

One might want to make sure the subscription user details and the perpetual user details are well isolated from each other.

One could also consider taking advantage of the 30 day fully functional free trial with a view to confirming that V21, if installed, does indeed resolve the sharing problem.

Thanks for the tip. We are working on a regular basis (but we used both LR as a RAW converter). So she has to upgrade. 🤷‍♂️

    Thank you again!
I’m sure that will solve the issue.
