Have you checked the Base Characteristics tool to see how C1 is trying to interpret the file?

Have the Browser Thumbnail and Preview files been successfully created?

    Session or Catalog?

I have not, I can check the base characteristics tool. It seems odd that, while shooting directly from the camera, some are being marked this way while the vast majority are not. The browser thumbnail and preview files have been successfully created in high-resolution.

    Edit: It's a session file

Edit2: Nothing is showing up under "Base Characteristics". The others all say "Sony A7RM4 Generic"

    OK.

That seems to suggest that, for reasons as yet unknown, the files do not seems to be presenting the camera identification data that C1 needs to be able to apply processing.

For those files does C1 allow you to access the field and select the correct (or indeed any available) profile from the list available? If so, what does that then allow you to do?

Sony A7R IV is supported starting from Capture One 12.1.2 in Pro, (for Sony), and Enterprise product variants.

Sony A9II is supported starting from Capture One 12.1.4 in Pro, (for Sony), and Enterprise product variants.

In case tethering or live view is not working properly when connecting a camera and using Capture One, follow the steps below:

Update your camera firmware to the newest version. Tethering works with the USB 3 cable and the USB-C connector on the camera. If you update the firmware of Sony A7R IV / A9 II to the newest version, the live view will work with USB 3.
Make sure that the PC Remote function on the camera is enabled. Please refer to your camera's manual.
Disable Wifi on your camera by turning the Airplane Mode on, for instance.
