GPS metadata not available when image files are offline

Unlike most if not all other metadata, GPS data isn't available when image files are offline. Is this a bug or "by design"?

    True and odd. The GPS metadata is embedded in the image RAW file. Capture One reads the metadata and populates other metadata fields, but appears to read GPS metadata on the fly from the RAW file. Sounds like a bug.

    I've asked support about it now. I hope it will be fixed/changed.
