Did you mean to post this in the dedicated section of the forum under NDA?

If you are a beta tester, all discussion of the beta should be in the appropriate beta forum.

    And NDA means non-disclosure agreement.

So, after logging into your account, you don't see a section like this?

And where exactly would this mythical "appropriate beta forum" be? I can find no mention of it anywhere in the documentation. To top it all, the "report a bug" functionality is broken on the new beta, it takes me to a webpage that never loads. I've tried it on two different browsers.

I have no idea, as I am not taking part in the beta testing program. But I do know that you are not supposed to discuss it here.

    Ritesh,

When you are logged in to the forum you should and at the Community Header page where the various sections of the forum can be selected individually you should find the relevant section available to you.

I don't see the beta section there.

Ritesh, my experience was that you have to request a link to the Beta forum through the Submit a Request form, above right.
After that the Beta forum box should eventually show on your C1 community page.

That's a faff.. it'd be a bit more streamlined and thought out than that you'd think. But, thanks for sharing your experience!

Ian, just FYI, the rule is not to discuss the release itself - there's nothing obviously wrong with discussing how to download it.

Not really. In common with lots of other software, being on the beta programme is a privilege, not a right. Having to ask for access isn't unreasonable in those circumstances.

My mistake Ritesh, there is no beta forum box on the community page.
C1 sends you a direct link to it.

I really do not like that attitude. I test beta (even alpha) software all the time. This kind of "go hunting for the feedback or discussion forum, plead for it, figure it out" is NOT common at all. At least not with any serious software company. Having to ask for access is not entirely unreasonable, but, they don't even make it clear that a beta forum/section even exists at all.

A company makes pre-release software available because THEY need feedback and bug reports from willing users. It's a "privilege" for both sides, not just the user, as you seem to think/suggest.

My mistake Ritesh, there is no beta forum box on the community page.
C1 sends you a direct link to it.

Step 2: When, following what, and to whom, do they send this link?

They make it oddly difficult, it's almost like they do not want anyone to discuss anything and want to keep any and all feedback secret. That just smells of insecurity.

    Hi Rithesh,

beta testing is an offer, not duty. If you do not like this offer, then leave it.

To discuss the way Capture One do beta testing with us will not make it better or different. HERE IS NO STAFF only other users.

Imagine having that kind of attitude towards your paying customers. Also, if you're not from the staff, why do you feel the need to answer on their behalf?

To discuss the way Capture One do beta testing with us will not make it better or different.

Of course, when has discussion or valid criticism ever made anything better or different.. right?

    HERE IS NO STAFF

I'm pretty sure the forums are frequented by the staff. That's how company-run forums work btw.

"Step 2: When, following what, and to whom, do they send this link?"

    My experience again:
Maybe some people get invited to join the beta program
but in my case I just made a request to join through the standard
    "Submit a Request" form above.
Once accepted there was a link to the C1 beta download on my community page.
I had to make another "Submit a Request" to get the link to the beta forum
    which was sent via email.

"Also, if you're not from the staff, why do you feel the need to answer on their behalf?"

As you obviously and for many posts did not get it, my post was only for your information. ;)
