V22
I just tried stitching a panorama with v22. In a word it is an abomination. Even adjusting the light fall-off set to 120, there is UGLY "banding" at the image seam boundaries.
I also tried merging an HDR and stitching. Based on what I saw after merging and stitching, v22 pano showed major differences in color noise between the images. I ran the same set of images through Photomatix and then stitched in Affinity Photo, no problems. I have a PTgui trial and repeated the exercise with PTgui, again no problem. BTW, neither of these two apps had the light fall-off problem experienced with v22.

Yeah, the new pano feature, as it is now, reveals insufficient fall-off correction of certain profiles...

Stanley,
My testing has not shown bad results for my files even with no attention paid to the possible problem areas. In the worst cases (other than where I overloaded a pano with unnecessary files) I could find I had to look quite hard to spot any significant issues related to banding or light fall off.
It would be interesting to identify the reasons why our experiences seem to have been so different (so far).

I continued to explore and have concluded that the main problem is with the HDR merge, not the pano stitching. The light fall-off problem became less of a concern when I backed off the correction to 38 rather than the 120 that I originally used.
