old session unexpectedly loads after image export

For several months my sessions behave differently with two problems. 1) After I export an image(s), immediately images from an older session are loaded into the active session, which now holds both sets. Usually the old session loaded is the same one. Capture One 21 newest update. Windows 10. 2) Exported images don’t land in the target folder. They usually land in the same (frequently used) but not targeted folder.

  I would be tempted to suggest that you delete the user.config file which may have some internal anomalies that are not being corrected during use for reasons that may not be easy to identify.  

  However, deleting the file may result in some further "recent settings" losses. There may be no way around that but deleting yet not solving the problem would be annoying. So maybe copy elsewhere or rename would be safer as a starting point.
